Properties of solutions of the incompressible 3D Navier-Stokes & Euler equations
John D. Gibbon (Imperial College London)

My intention is to deliver two pairs of lectures, the first on properties of solutions of the incompressible 3D Navier-Stokes equations & the second on properties of solutions of the incompressible 3D Euler equations. The first pair will cover ideas on how the phenomenon of Navier-Stokes intermittency is inter-woven with the regularity problem for both forced and unforced flows. The second pair will contain an over-view of recent results on the 3D Euler equations including the use of quaternions in determining the dynamics of particle trajectories together with results on atmospheric Euler-like flows with rotation.
