Workshop on Lie algebras, finite groups, and finite fields (and other things as well...)

Trento, June 3-4, 2013

Why?

Well, the intended goal for this rather eclectic workshop is to share some ideas and research themes of the former participants to the PRIN 2008, "Pro-p-groups and Lie algebras, finite groups, representations" (of which we acknowledge financial support) together with a few external colleagues of my personal choice ;-)
There should be plenty of time for discussions, hopefully encouraged by the sparse schedule, and my greatest hope is that they might foster some future collaborations between people from not quite the same background.
The intentional small number of participants should also make for a more informal atmosphere than on other occasions.
Enjoy!
Sandro (Mattarei)

Schedule

All talks will take place in room 108 at Polo Ferrari.
A laptop and projector will be available for presentations (please bring your pdf file on a USB stick or, alternatively, send a copy to me in advance), and of course an old-fashioned-but-still-perfectly-functional blackboard.
