Numerical simulation of compact objects: black holes and neutron stars

In our universe there are objects with extremely strong gravity, such as black holes
and neutron stars. These objects are under the law of general relativity, which is
valid in very strong gravity. But dynamics of these objects is not fully understood
due to the difficulty of solving Einstein’s equations. In our research group we
solve Einstein’s equations numerically by using computers, follow the dynamics of
black holes and neutron stars and predict possible signals from these objects such
as gravitational waves and electromagnetic ones.
