QFT in curved spacetimes: an overview

Abstract

In this talk I present a brief overview of Quantum Field Theory on curved spacetimes. Generalising the minkowskian QFT to a general curved spacetime It is not an easy task: There are many difficulties, both physical and mathematical, that one has to overcome. This leads to the modern algebraic formulation of QFT. After discussing this topic, I conclude the talk by discussing in more detail my research activity, i.e. the definition of properties of Wick polynomials in curved spacetime for vector fields.
