High energy perspectives from candy crushing in vacuum
Abstract
The 2008 experiment of Camara, Escobar, Hird and Putterman had shown that the process of unwinding sticky tape in vacuum can generate high energy particles. I'll provide an explanation for the observed phenomenon linking it to triboluminescence and illustrate the undergoing attempt to experimentally test the theory.
